The 6th-8th grade students attended a campus visit at Hastings College made possible in part by the Education Quest 8th Grade College Campus grant and EF School.
Students learned about paying for college, being active on campus and in the community, and the importance of good habits before entering high school.
One unique thing about Hastings is that students take classes in eight week blocks, taking two classes at a time.
After, we grabbed pizza and enjoyed a Planetarium showing at the Hastings museum.

Congratulations to this week's

Celebrating our newest group of students recognized by their teachers. Keep up the great work and keep CHARGING into your learning!

Congratulations to the Elementary Quiz Bowl team on their
🥇1st Place🥇 finish in Maywood.

Mrs. Rexing's Ag Math class visited one of Gilbert Koch’s corn fields today to learn how to estimate corn yield with the help of agronomist Jordan Rexing. Students tested multiple spots in the field to calculate an average yield and see firsthand how math is used every day in agriculture.
A big thank you to Gilbert and Jordan for giving our students this awesome in-the-field learning experience! 👩🌾👨🌾

No Hill for a Climber- The Tools to Find a Way Travis Pieper, a 2010 grad of EF, gave an incredible presentation for our 7-12th grade students. Sharing how the character traits that rooted through school and community activities growing up - FFA, sports, especially wrestling, and others- undoubtedly served him when a head on collision left him without nearly half of his body. His message was inspiring and left his listeners reflecting on their attitudes and mindsets, especially when faced with the choice to embrace the suck- to have it hard now or have it hard later. So many great things came out of our hour together. When you get the chance to hear this All Right Guy, don't miss it! https://www.facebook.com/share/1KPZA4Zat9/?mibextid=but
