Assistant School Cook

Eustis-Farnam Public Schools is hiring for the position of Assistant School Cook for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond. We are looking for an individual with a desire to work in food service and to interact positively with students. 

This position is a 9 month position starting at the beginning of August and ending on or around the final day of the school year in May. Work hours are generally from 6:30 AM to 1:15 PM on each school day. The wage is hourly and to be determined once an applicant is hired. This position does not come with insurance but does include 8 days of sick leave per school year and 2 days of personal leave.

Duties include the preparation and serving of breakfast, maintenance of production sheets for breakfast, assisting with preparing and serving lunches, meal planning, computer orders, record keeping, washing dishes, sweeping/mopping floors, and general maintenance and cleaning of the kitchen. The selected applicant must complete certification for ServSafe for Food Handlers prior to starting in August. This training would be paid for by the school. The selected applicant must also be able to pass a background check enabling them to work in a school setting and work in an alcohol and drug free work environment.

Experience is preferred but not necessary for this position. It is essential that the applicant be reliable, dependable,and punctual. Additional Notes:  

Assistant School Cook would report to the Head School Cook and School Administration.

School district employees are disqualified from receiving unemployment benefits from the school for periods of unemployment which fall between regular school years if they performed services for a school district during one year and have a contract or a reasonable assurance of employment to perform similar services on comparable terms during the next school year.

It is specifically agreed that the Worker's employment is on an at will basis, that this Work Agreement creates no property rights in continued employment, and that it may be terminated by either party, with or without cause or hearing, at any time upon giving a two calendar weeks notice. The Superintendent or the Board of Education may terminate this Agreement, and such termination will be effective two calendar weeks from the date of issuance of the Superintendent’s or the Board of Education’s notice.  No advance notice of termination shall be necessary in the event such termination is to be effective immediately.

Custodial or Maintenance

Eustis-Farnam Public Schools is hiring for the position of Custodian or Maintenance.

The custodial position could be a part time or full time position. If full time, it would be a 12 month contract with full single benefits, sick leave, and personal leave included.

Duties include but are not limited to: care and cleaning of all floor surfaces, dusting, sanitization of all spaces, collection and removal of trash, bathroom maintenance, management of supplies (cleaning, restrooms, paper towels, etc.) changing of lightbulbs, repairing lockers/doors/etc., painting, moving furniture and equipment as needed, removal of snow and ice from walk ways, clearing leaves and trash from grounds, other related work

9-12 Spanish / Other Teaching Opportunities

Eustis-Farnam Public Schools is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill the 9-12 Spanish Teacher position for the 2024-2025 school year. 

Eustis-Farnam is a small district that serves approximately 175 students in grades pre-kindergarten through 12th. Students and staff benefit from small class sizes (generally between 10-15), a collaborative staff, and a supportive community. Administration and staff place a high value on positive behavior management, quality instruction, and relationships with students.

The Spanish teacher position is currently a part-time position that involves teaching high school students Spanish I, II, III, and IV. However, there would be the opportunity for it to be a full time position if the candidate is qualified to teach another subject at the high school or junior high level. 

Coaching and sponsorship opportunities are available, but not required. 

Applicants should possess or be able to acquire a Nebraska Teaching Certificate with the appropriate endorsement. Half-Time Librarian

Eustis-Farnam Public Schools is accepting applications for a properly endorsed half-time library position.  Candidates must meet State of Nebraska certification with a library endorsement. 

Duties may include but are not limited to:  Meet Rule 10 library requirements for books/periodicals, teach appropriate age level library classed to K-12 students, supervise students/cover classes sent to the library, district LAN manager/technology coordinator, district supervisor for state reporting/ADVISER and SIS (Powerschool) which requires some summer work, school website manager, community contact for library/technology assistance, coordinator for district lunch and business office accounting systems, district transportation calendar, possible CDL bus license for route/activities, and sports coaching as needed.
